Leading the delegation were the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ndukwe Okeudo, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Dr. Agwu U. Agwu and the Registra, Dr. Acho Elendu, alongside members of the institution’s leadership and the airline’s management team.
In his remarks, Onyema underscored his unwavering commitment to education and national development, stating: “One thing is certain, I believe in education. Without education, the country is dead and whatever we must do to encourage education, the government alone cannot fund it. The private sector must be actively involved.”
He expressed appreciation to the Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, for the nomination, noting that the recognition reflects his enduring contributions to the development of Abia State and Nigeria at large. Onyema’s growing list of honorary doctorates stands as a testament to his impactful philanthropy, consistent investment in human capital development, and his broader commitment to nation-building through enterprise and social responsibility.
