Super Eagles midfielder Frank Onyeka has secured a return to the English Premier League following Coventry City’s impressive push for promotion, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The industrious midfielder, who joined Coventry on loan from Brentford in January, has played a pivotal role in the team’s successful campaign.

Coventry’s promotion charge was further strengthened by results elsewhere over the weekend.

Promotion rivals Middlesbrough suffered defeat to Portsmouth, while Millwall were held to a draw by West Bromwich Albion on Friday.

The outcomes leave Frank Lampard’s side on the brink of a top-two finish. Coventry are currently 12 points clear of third-placed Millwall with just four matches remaining and boast a significantly superior goal difference.

A single point from their remaining fixtures will mathematically confirm Coventry City’s return to the Premier League for the first time in 25 years.
