The Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, has stated that the special Christmas fun packages and entertainment contents lined up in the state under the ‘Onwa Dezemba’ series were intentionally crafted to unleash the tourism potentials of the state to the global audience.

He said the Soludo administration has made Anambra a liveable and prosperous homeland, turning the state into a tourist destination instead of a departure lounge, through the provision of solid infrastructural developments that cut across roads, health, education, security and social amenities, hence the expected high volume of tourists, holidaymakers and returnees to the state this Christmas.
Commissioner for Information, Dr Law Mefor, flanked by his Tourism and Culture counterpart, Don Onyenji, Nollywood legend and aide to Governor Soludo, Bob-Manuel Udokwu, and the Press Secretary to the Governor, Christian Aburime, pointed out that Anambra people will troop home from different parts of the country this Christmas, while fun seekers will have their best holidays this yuletide in Anambra because of the spectacular line-up of activities for the ‘Onwa Dezemba’ package.
He listed such activities, which start from 18th December 2025 to 4th January 2026, to include City Block – a fun-filled gathering with music performances for Gen Z – Christmas Carol/Cankata, Children’s Christmas Festival, Igba Mmanwu masquerade festival, novelty matches, a special homecoming concert for Afro-highlife artiste Flavour, Comedy Fest, Walk for Life and an All-White Old School Night, among others.
The Commissioner for Tourism, Don Onyenji, remarked that the fully packed entertainment packages in the state for the yuletide have been designed to be all-encompassing through the inclusion of villages and the hinterlands of Anambra in the programme through zonal venues, and the inclusion of the choices of the elderly in some of the features, while other community cultural events have been incorporated into the government programmes during the season.
