Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu, who currently plies his trade with Turkish club Trabzonspor, has embarked on a heartfelt initiative to transform healthcare access in his hometown of Amakohia, Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The towering forward is personally funding the construction of a modern health center valued at approximately $450,000.

The facility aims to bring quality, accessible medical care closer to residents who have long struggled with inadequate healthcare infrastructure in the community.

The project kicked off during Onuachu’s recent return to Nigeria for the international break.

The health center is expected to include essential amenities such as consultation rooms, a well-equipped laboratory, a pharmacy, and basic emergency services, with plans to recruit qualified medical staff to ensure sustainable operations.

This philanthropic gesture adds to Onuachu’s growing reputation not just as a prolific goal scorer on the pitch, but also as a community leader giving back to his roots.

Fans and locals have welcomed the news with excitement, hailing it as a significant boost for rural healthcare in Imo State.

The project is currently in its early construction phase, and Onuachu has promised to see it through to completion.
