Super Eagles and Galatasaray striker, Victor Osimhen has drawn praise from the leading goalscorer in the Turkish Super Lig.

Paul Onuachu spent the 2023/2024 season on loan with Trabzonspor, where he achieved good goalscoring form, scoring 17 goals and providing four assists in 25 appearances across all competitions.

He returned to Southampton after his loan spell elapsed, and the Saints denied the lanky striker the opportunity of joining Trabzonspor permanently.

His wish came to pass in the summer transfer window as he joined the seven-time Turkish Champions for €5.67m, penning a three-year deal with the option to extend for another year.

Onuachu has regained his goalscoring form again, scoring seven goals in ten league games heading into the clash against Galatasaray yesterday evening.

The 31-year-old didn’t have the best game against Okan Buruk’s side. He had the fewest touches of any outfield player and didn’t have any shots, not even off target.

After the game, he was seen in high spirits with Victor Osimhen and former Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana.

En route to the RAMS Park exit, the former KRC Genk striker was quizzed by a journalist who he thinks is the better striker between himself and Victor Osimhen.

Onuachu initially laughed as he walked down the hallway, before he mentioned Osimhen.

The pair has been in good goalscoring form this season, and appears to have a cordial relationship off the pitch.
