Only democracy can propel Nigeria to greater heights- NASSMCS President

From Abel Leonard, Lafia

President of the National Artisanal and Small Scale Mining Cooperative Society (NASSMCS), Alhaji Abdullahi Dantasidi, has assured Nigerians that only democracy can propel the country to greater heights even with the economic challenges they’re currently facing.

Dantasidi in a statement on Wednesday in Keffi local government area of Nasarawa State congratulated Nigerians on the celebration of 25 years of unbroken democracy.

He urged Nigerians to be patient and have faith in the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Tinubu which he said, once fully implemented will make the country safer, richer, greater and more attractive to foreign investments.

“The strides of the President Bola Tinubu’s administration in the mining sector is a testament.

“Giving the antecedents of this current administration and under the leadership of the Minister Solid Minerals, Mr Dele Alake, we artisanal miners now have firm belief that in no distant time the mining sector will be competing shoulder to shoulder with the oil sector in terms of revenue generation for the country.

“All this is possible due to the healthy and unbroken democracy that we current enjoy and which we must protect and sustain at all costs,” he said.

He therefore solicited for more support for the President and pledged the artisanal miners full commitment to put in place to revamp and reform the mining sector.

He also enjoined Nigerians across religions, political affiliation, tribes to continue to contribute their quota to the growth and development of Nigeria.
