One Year In Office: Mere Paper Presentation, Charade – APC Chieftain

From Idu Jude Abuja

An APC chieftain, Dr Garus Gololo, has slammed the recent series of sectorial briefings by the Tinubu administration, describing them as a “charade” and a “shot of reality” in the Nigerian economy.

Gololo, reacting to the presentations in Abuja, called for an immediate cabinet reshuffle, stating that the President should “wait no longer” to save the ruling party from further embarrassment. He singled out most cabinet members for poor performance, with the exception of the Minister of FCT, Barrister Nyesom Wike, and the Minister of Health, Mohammed Ali Pate.

“We have taken our time to listen to all the papers presented and without mincing words, I can tell you unequivocally that President Tinubu assembled jokers except Barrister Nyesom Wike the Minister of FCT and the Minister of Health Mohammed Ali Pate, those their CVs are red through the achievements they had carried out within a few months. For me, Wike and Ali Pate do not need to go to the ‘tea party’ at the radio house. These two have shown their mettle,” Gololo said.

He also criticised the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, for his presentation on the “dry farming project,” calling it a “fallacy” and “diversionary.” Gololo questioned the existence of these projects, stating that they are “all paperwork and rhetoric” while the masses struggle with high food prices.

“The Minister, of Agriculture, is from my zone and I singled him out because I supported his appointment not until he showed no capacity. The price of fertilizer is nothing to mention now,” Gololo lamented.

Gololo also expressed support for the NLC’s demand for a N500,000 minimum wage, stating that the amount is necessary to address the rising cost of living in the country. He further criticized the nepotistic tendencies of the Tinubu administration, citing the need for a “better Nigeria” and recalling the damage caused by former President Muhammadu Buhari’s appointments of family members to key positions.

“Recently we witnessed the sack of over 200 northerners by the CBN Governor and it seems each Nigerian government has a peculiar agenda far from the one for the unity of Nigeria,” Gololo said.
