A motorist reportedly died on Friday morning after his Toyota Corolla plunged into a canal around Adeniji in Lagos Island area of Lagos State.
The lone accident occurred when the car somersaulted into the V-shaped canal at Adeniji inward Ilubirin, just before the Third Mainland Bridge.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) confirmed the development in an X post, saying one casualty was recorded in the in didn’t.
A video of the incident shared by LASTMA shows emergency responders and passersby gathered around the overturned vehicle.
The agency said a tow truck had been contacted for evacuation.
Meanwhile, a 40-foot containerised truck fell at Daleko, Mushin area of the state also on Friday morning.
According to LASTMA, the container fell off the Mack flat-body truck and occupied one lane at Olanibi Street by Ladipo, Daleko.
No casualty was recorded in the incident.
