Ondo State Governor, Hon Lucky Aiyedatiwa has reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to the welfare and security of members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) serving in the state.
The Governor gave the assurance through the NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs. Kuburat Omowumi Bakare during the closing ceremony of the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream 1 Orientation Course held on Tuesday at the NYSC permanent orientation camp, Ikare-Akoko.
According to him “the state remains committed to youths empowerment, development and welfare. We assure you of a peaceful and conducive environment to carry out your national service and make meaningful contributions.”
Governor Aiyedatiwa, however, urged the corps members to remain law-abiding, security-conscious and conduct themselves in ways that reflect positively on their families, institutions and the NYSC scheme.
He reminded them that they are ambassadors of unity, peace and development and therefore must live up to expectation.

He further encouraged the corps members to allow their conduct to reflect the values instilled in them during the orientation course by being proactive, embracing their host communities, identifying areas of need and contributing to community development initiatives.
The Governor also advised the corp members to take full advantage of the NYSC Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme, urging them to pursue ventures that will make them self-reliant after their service year.
While highlighting the roles of community leaders and stakeholders, Governor Aiyedatiwa appealed for their continuous support, love and protection for corps members.
One of the major highlights of the event was the presentation of commendation awards to outstanding camp officials.
In the NYSC officials’ category, Mr. Aminu Jelili Adebayo was honoured, while Inspector Sanni Mary was recognized in the collaborating agencies’ category.
