A lady, Augustina Mowari is in police custody for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend, Michael Ikuedowoni, to death over cheating allegation in Okitipupa area of Ondo State.
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Ondo, Olayinka Ayanlade confirmed the suspect’s arrest and detention.
He said the couple engaged in a disagreement which turned physical.
Ayanlade said, “There was an argument between the two, which led to the suspect stabbing the victim with scissors. He later died in the hospital.
“The suspect is in our custody, and the case will be charged in court after investigations are concluded.”
It was learnt that the lovers cohabited a one-room apartment but often disagreed over suspected infidelity.
Mowari accused Ikuedowoni of cheating on her with another woman, which caused a disagreement that led to a scuffle.
In the process, Mowari was said to have stabbed her boyfriend in the leg with a scissors and he was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
“After being discharged, his condition deteriorated at home. His leg became swollen, and he was rushed back to the hospital on Sunday night. Unfortunately, he passed away despite the doctors’ efforts to save him,” a source said.
