Ahead of the November 16 governorship election in Ondo State, a pro-democracy group, Mebinone Asogbon Support Group, has donated campaign items for the flag bearer of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who is the incumbent governor of the state.

The group made this known during a Zoom meeting attended by critical stakeholders to prepare the ground for the women’s rally scheduled to hold in Ilaje zone of the state soon.

The donated items, facilitated by a philanthropist, Mebinone Asogbon, who hails from Ilaje, included customised caps, polo shirts, cash, and other materials. They were given to loyalists of APC in the zone for the women’s rally.

Presenting the materials, Enikansaye Adebowale, who represented the group, said he was well received by Efurubu Angelina Aderonke, the party’s Woman Leader for the community.

The group stated that more rallies and empowerment programmes for zonal and wards coordinators would be staged in due time, stating that other strategic plans were being worked out for their candidates to win the poll.

Asogbon said during the Zoom meeting that the “donation we made today is just the tip of the iceberg; compared to other plans we have in the offing. We can’t give out all to the press for safety and strategic reasons.

“Our people are ready to throw their weight behind the incumbent governor to continue with his good work. We’re currently gearing for a massive rally, which will promote our goal and readiness before rival party.

“I urge all wards and zonal coordinators not to relent in making sure we achieve our aim. I promise our governor that we’ll surely be behind him, come rain or shine,” the group said.
