Operatives of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, popularly known as Operation Amotekun, have arrested a 19-year-old suspected serial motorcycle robber, Oyediran Ayomide, who specialises in dispossessing people of their motorcycles at the border of the state.
Ayomide, who hails from Ola in Kwara State, was apprehended in Ore, headquarters of Odigbo Local Government Area of the state, after allegedly attacking a commercial motorcycle rider with a sledgehammer and fleeing with the motorcycle.
The suspect, during interrogation, admitted to committing the crime, saying that his intention was to use the motorcycle for commercial purposes in Ore.

“I told the okada rider to take me from Omu-Aran to a farm settlement. When we got there, I pretended to make a phone call to distract him. Then I hit him on the head with a sledgehammer. The man later abandoned the motorcycle and ran away,” he confessed.
The Public Relations Officer of the security outfit, Jimoh Adeniken, said the suspect has been handed over to the Kwara State Local Government Security Initiative for continued investigation and possible prosecution.
He said the Kwara security outfit expressed appreciation to Ondo State Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for his efforts at strengthening security across the state and expressed optimism for deeper collaboration between the two states.
