Ahead of the 2024 gubernatorial election in Ondo State, a group, the Ondo Good Governance (OGG) has said that the outstanding performance of the lawmaker representing Okitipupa/ Irele federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon Jimi Odimayo is enough to earn him the governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The group said Odimayo’s performances as a representative at the green chamber are enough conviction for the people to give him the population to serve as the Governor of Ondo State.
Also, the group said Odimayo merits being considered as the APC flag bearer in the forthcoming election, considering his sterling performance in the House of Representatives.
In a statement signed by Mr John Adesola, the group said Odimayo’s popularity among the people of Ondo State is a key factor for his qualification as Governor.
“Not only does Odimayo have grassroots appeal, he has also been delivering tangible results for the people of his constituency. He’s doing a great job working to improve the lives of his people. We are sure he will replicate this on a state-wide scale if voted as Governor.
Adesola stated that Odimayo has the ability to use the resources of the state to create a better future for the people than any other aspirants, stressing that the ace politician has managed successfully blue chip companies that are working till today.
“Undoubtedly, we have a lot of faith in Odimayo’s ability to make a positive impact in Ondo State. We urge that the APC look beyond sentiment and more of competence and capacity to deliver,” he stated
He added that Odimayo’s lack of baggage or blemishes makes him a very attractive candidate, not just to the APC but to voters of all political parties.
He said further that “the party shouldn’t make any mistake. Odimayo should be endorsed as the flag bearer because members of other political parties and other electorate will vote for him unconditionally at the general elections”
