Presidential spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, has criticised opposition figures following the African Democratic Congress’ (ADC) poor performance in the recently concluded by-elections.

Onanuga, in a post on his X page on Monday, posted a photo of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Labour Party’s Peter Obi, former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, and former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai with the caption: “How is the market now?”

The statement, seen as a taunt, comes amid increasing debate over the significance and power of opposition groups in today’s political atmosphere.

Opposition leaders who want to remove President Bola Tinubu in 2027 took part in the election through the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to gauge their support.

It was noted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) won the majority of the seats, with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) also winning.
