This March, renowned entrepreneur and beauty industry innovator Omolola Akinboade, Founder and Creative Lead of LolaExpress Hair, once again delivered on her mission of empowerment by hosting a three-day free bridal styling empowerment program, training women across Nigeria.

The initiative, which ran on March 20, 21, and 24, 2025, drew participants from across Nigeria and equipped them with the skills, confidence, and resources to elevate their work in bridal styling.

The program brought together both complete beginners and women who were already in the hairstyling business but needed advanced knowledge and techniques to stay competitive. For many of the attendees, the opportunity was life-changing.

In a country where access to high-quality professional training often comes at a cost too steep for many to afford, Omolola’s decision to make the program completely free of charge opened doors for participants who might otherwise never have had the chance to upgrade their skills.

Over the three days, participants were immersed in an intensive curriculum that combined technical mastery with business insight. They practiced more than 20 different bridal styling techniques, working both in groups and individually under the guidance of professional instructors.

The training went beyond the artistry of hairstyling, with dedicated sessions on bridal pricing strategies, ensuring participants not only knew how to create flawless styles but also how to price and package their services sustainably.
One of the program’s most powerful features was the provision of free styling tools and hair products, generously supplied by LolaExpress Hair.

This ensured that every participant left with the resources to continue practicing immediately after the training, eliminating one of the most common barriers for aspiring entrepreneurs in the beauty industry. To further remove any obstacles, meals were provided for all attendees during the three days, enabling them to focus fully on their learning and growth.

At the end of the program, each participant received a certificate of completion, validating their newly acquired skills and marking their readiness to apply them in the real world. For many, this was more than a certificate, it was a symbol of possibility and a tangible step toward building sustainable careers in hairstyling and bridal beauty.

The impact was felt deeply by both the organizers and the women themselves. Omolola described the program as “an incredibly rewarding experience, not only for the participants but also for us at LolaExpress.

Watching women grow from zero bridal styling skills to confidently executing advanced techniques in just three days is inspiring. The joy, confidence, and determination we saw in their faces remind us why empowerment must always remain at the heart of what we do.”

Participants echoed this sentiment, many expressing gratitude for the generosity of the program and the opportunity to learn from one of the most respected names in the Nigerian beauty industry. “This program has opened my eyes,” said one participant. “I came here not knowing how to structure my bridal pricing, and now I not only have the skill but also the business knowledge to make this work.”

This 2025 program follows the success of Omolola’s earlier initiatives under LEH Empowerment, the social impact platform she created to extend access to beauty industry training. Through LEH Empowerment, hundreds of women have already been trained in wig making, wig styling, and bridal styling, with many going on to establish independent businesses or secure employment in reputable salons and bridal houses.

Omolola’s dual role as both an industry leader and social impact advocate continues to set her apart. While her brand, LolaExpress Hair, remains a household name in luxury wigs and extensions, her empowerment initiatives prove that her vision extends beyond beauty products into creating opportunity, transformation, and legacy.

As she reflected on the success of the program, Omolola made clear her intentions for the future. “This is just the beginning,” she said. “Every year, we want to give more women the chance to build careers, to create income, and to transform their lives. Beauty is powerful, but empowerment is the true crown.”
