Omale condoles victims of attacks in Benue South communities

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, Chief Benjamin Omale, has expressed sympathy with victims of the recent attacks in Otukpo-Nobi, Ohimini and other affected communities in Benue South Senatorial District.

Omale, who paid a condolence visit to the affected communities, as well as victims in hospital, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and extended his condolences to the bereaved families.

He prayed for the peaceful repose of those who died and for strength and comfort for their loved ones.

The APC chairman condemned the killings, destruction of property and other acts of violence, acknowledging the pain, fear and trauma experienced by residents.

He appealed for calm and urged community members to refrain from reprisals, stressing that no one should take the law into their own hands.

According to him, peace, unity and dialogue remain the best path to overcoming the security challenges confronting the state.

Omale called on security agencies to intensify efforts to apprehend those responsible for the attacks and ensure they are brought to justice. He also commended security personnel for their sacrifices while urging them to sustain vigilance and improve rapid response to security threats.

He further called for stronger collaboration among all tiers of government, traditional rulers, religious leaders, stakeholders, youths and community members to tackle insecurity.

He encouraged residents to support security agencies with timely and credible information that could help prevent further attacks.

The APC chairman also urged peaceful coexistence among all law-abiding residents, regardless of ethnic or religious affiliation, assuring the affected communities that the party and government would continue to advocate for their welfare.

Omale commended President Bola Tinubu and Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, for what he described as their commitment to improving security, adding that every Nigerian life is valuable and must be protected.

As part of the visit, Omale, with the support of the Benue State Government, distributed relief materials and food items to victims to help cushion the impact of the attacks.

He prayed to God for lasting peace in Benue State and across Nigeria.
