Olympic Boxing Qualifier: Four Nigerian boxers zoom into quarter final

Team Nigeria boxers participating in the ongoing Paris 2024 Olympic Games qualifier in Dakar, Senegal continued their impressive performance as four (4) of them zoomed into the quarter-final, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

In the Women’s category, Nigeria’s Oyesiji Adeola Omowunmi beat Yusuf Zulfa Macho of Tanzania on points (5-0) in the round of 16 of Women’s 50kg.

Adeshina Zainab Motunrayo also defeated Havyarimana Ornella of Burundi on points (5-0) in round 16 of women’s 54kg while Ojo Nene Joy thrashed Zambian Mhango Mary in round 3 of women’s 57kg to reach quarter final.

In the men’s category, Omole Dolapo Joshua beat Ghanaian Omar Abdul Wahib by a unanimous decision (5-0) in round 16 of the Men’s 57kg.

According to the schedule of International Olympic Committee (IOC), today Tuesday, Sept 12th, has been fixed as rest day for all the boxers participating at the ongoing Boxing Africa Olympic Qualifers in Dakar, Senegal. Quater-final begins on Wednesday.
