Olusegun Williams David has been honored with the Titans of Technology AML/Compliance Innovator in Fintech Award 2023, marking a major milestone in his professional journey and reinforcing his growing influence within Africa’s fintech ecosystem.
The Titans of Tech Awards have built up a massive reputation over the last 20 plus years, often earning it the nickname of the “Tech Grammy” in Nigeria. It’s a long standing platform that focuses on the real movers and shakers in the industry. Whether it’s a new founder or a massive organization, the awards are designed to highlight who is truly leading the way in Africa’s fast-moving tech economy.
This year, the award ceremony took place on the 21st of July, 2023, at the Oriental Hotel in Victoria Island. It was a massive turnout; with everyone in attendance, from fin-tech founders, tech players, innovators and CEO’s of the big multinationals to policy stakeholders all in one room. It felt like a true cross-section of the people actually running the tech scene in Africa right now.
This award is really a reflection of the years Olusegun has put into the fintech and compliance world. As a Senior KYC Analyst, he’s been right in the middle of it, helping companies tighten up their compliance and manage risks more effectively. His work has been a huge part of keeping things running smoothly and legally in such a fast-moving industry.
There was no hiding how happy Olusegun was to receive that recognition. In his remarks, he thanked the organizers for staying dedicated to the growth of technology across the continent. He especially praised the awards for spotlighting young talent, noting that these are the professionals doing the heavy lifting to make sure Africa stays competitive in the global market.
“This award means more than I can say,” he mentioned. “It’s that one bit of proof you need to show that being consistent and putting in the hours day after day really does make a difference in the long run. The Titans of Tech Awards are so important for those of us working in the background to make sure these systems are secure and built to last. This honor definitely gives me a second wind to keep pushing for better compliance and innovation across the continent.”
Olusegun’s win really highlights just how important AML and compliance experts are for keeping fintech growth on the right track. It’s more than just a personal win; it’s a great example of how Africa is stepping up to lead the way in tech innovation and digital governance on a global scale.
