The Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin (Ige Olakulehin I), on Monday installed nine Mogajis and two Baales in a traditional ceremony held at the Olubadan Palace, Oke Aremo, Ibadan.
Speaking through High Chief (Senator) Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, the Ekarun Balogun of Ibadanland, the Olubadan congratulated the newly appointed titleholders for their recognition and urged them to be ambassadors of peace and integrity within their communities.
“You are now the accredited representatives of the Olubadan. You must ensure peace reigns in your domains, as no meaningful development can occur without it,” the monarch admonished.
He also warned them against acts that could tarnish the image of the traditional institution, such as land grabbing, insubordination to elders, and oppression of family members.
The event was graced by members of the Olubadan Advisory Council, former Deputy Governor of Oyo State Ambassador Taofik Oladejo Arapaja, traditional rulers, religious leaders, business moguls, and well-wishers.
The nine Mogajis installed were Mr Giwa Adeboye Kamaldeen from Aliiwo Compound in Ibadan North East Local Government, Alhaji ( Engr.) Kamorudeen Olalekan Adebimpe of Adebimpe family, Odinjo in Ibadan South East,Alhaji Muritala Iyanda Aloba of Aloba family, Inalende in Ibadan North, Engr (Dr ) Kazeem Rabiu of Akinsumbo Compound, Oke – Balogun Opooyeosa Ibadan North West.Others are Alhaji Kadir Yusuf Farayola, Samonda family, Ile Samonda, Oje in Ibadan North East .
Also installed as Mogajis were Mr.Olukayode David Oduntan Awise of Oduntan Awise Compound, Oke – Offa in Ibadan North East, Alhaji Abideen Mustatapha,Eleko family, Kososi Street,Idi Arere in Ibadan South West. Further more,Mr. Yinusa Taiwo Ibilade Apapa of Apapa Compound, Labiran in Ibadan North East, Alhaji Sholagbade Nureni Oladejo Arapaja, Arapaja family, Kudeti in Ibadan South West were installed as Mogajis.
The Baales installed were Chief Raimi Ibrahim Edujobi from Edujobi village in Egbeda Local Government as well as Mr.Morakinyo Muniru Fagbemi of the Fagbemi village in Akinyele Local Government Areas of Oyo State.
