Olu Jacobs, a veteran Nollywood actor, is alive and well despite rumours circulating on social media.
On Sunday, June 30 there were several reports that Olu Jacobs died at the age of 82.
Condolences were already pouring in from his fans and followers on different social media platforms.
However, Nigerian columnist Betty Irabor confirmed in a post on her social media account that Jacobs is hale and hearty, urging people to ignore the false reports of his passing.
Similar rumours about Jacobs’ death have previously spread online without official confirmation.
In June 2020, there was a similar report on Twitter and Facebook, which was later debunked by the spokesperson of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Monalisa Chinda-Coker.
Additionally, in August 2022, there was another rumour about the actor’s death, but this was also refuted by his wife, Joke, who even threatened legal action against those spreading false information.
