Former chief accountant, Decca (West Africa) Limited and Head of Olopade family, Oke Agbede, Itoko, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Monsuru Akanji Olopade, is dead.

Aged 87, Olapade died on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, during a brief illness. He was buried same day in Lagos, according to Islamic rites.

He is survived by wife, Risikatu and four children, including Adebimpe Ajiroba, Adepeju Tijani, Abayomi Olopade and Adetutu Dawud.

Olopade worked at the Ministry of Works and Transport, Ogun State, as an accountant before joining Decca. He became its chief accountant after his stint and career progression. He left for Afrodisia Limited, also a recording company, in Lagos as chief accountant.

He retired to take care of his extended family in Abeokuta and his community in Egbeda, Akowonjo, Lagos.

Akanbi Akinbolu, a close relative to managing director, Afrodisia, the late Akinbolu, described Olopade as “a conscientious worker, whose creed was honesty and transparency, which endeared him to a lot of people, both within and outside the organisation.”
