Olise rejects Algeria approach, commits to France

Michael Olise has reaffirmed his commitment to representing France national football team, despite past efforts to persuade him to switch allegiance to Algeria national football team.

The revelation was made by former Algeria international Adlène Guedioura, who disclosed during an appearance on beIN Sports that he had personally approached Olise during his time at Crystal Palace in a bid to convince him to represent the North African nation.

However, the highly rated attacking midfielder opted to continue his international career with France, a decision he has consistently described as natural.

“My choice to represent France was obvious. I have always felt like I was playing for France.” Olisehad previously stated.

The 23-year-old has since gone on to establish himself as one of Europe’s most influential attacking players. Now at Bayern Munich, Olise is enjoying a standout campaign, registering 16 goals and 25 assists across all competitions.

His performances have further strengthened his standing within the French national setup, where he is widely expected to play a significant role at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Olise’s continued rise underscores his growing influence on the international stage, as he cements his reputation as one of the game’s most decisive creative talents.
