The 1990/1991 alumni class of Methodist Senior Science College, Oron, Akwa Ibom State, has spent ₦10 million to renovate the boys’ hostel for their alma mater.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, the Interim Chairman of the Alumni Association (1990/91 class), Mr. Emmanuel Edeke, stated that the project was initiated after the alumni discovered the severe deterioration of the hostel. He explained that members contributed funds, coordinated logistics, and engaged a contractor to revamp the facility.
Edeke also emphasized the urgent need for a perimeter fence around the school to prevent land encroachment and deter intruders. He called on the Akwa Ibom State Government to intervene and address the school’s security infrastructure needs.
The Principal of the college, Mrs. Florence Essien, expressed deep gratitude to the old students for their generous support and commitment to the school’s development.
