Former Minister of Communications, retired Maj. Gen. Tajudeen Olanrewaju, has congratulated the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, on his 20th coronation anniversary, describing it as two decades of purposeful leadership and service to national unity.
Olanrewaju said the anniversary was not merely a celebration of 20 years on the throne of the Sokoto Caliphate but an acknowledgement of the Sultan’s contributions to peace-building, religious tolerance and national cohesion.
He noted the Sultan had distinguished himself as a traditional ruler whose influence transcends boundaries, earning respect across religious, ethnic and political divides through consistent advocacy for peaceful coexistence.
The retired General said the Sultan’s leadership had strengthened the relevance of traditional institutions through engagement with government, religious organisations, community leaders and international partners.
He prayed for good health, wisdom and longer life for the Sultan, adding: “Twenty years of distinguished service on the throne is a significant milestone worthy of celebration. May Almighty Allah continue to guide His Eminence.”
