Vitor Pereira admitted afterwards that he might well have dished out the Portuguese equivalent of the hairdryer treatment at half-time of Nottingham Forest’s clash with Burnley.
Rather than “shouting at everybody”, as he put it, the approach Pereira took at the interval typified the effect he has had at the City Ground. He headed down the tunnel quickly in order to put instructions and tactical tweaks on the whiteboard so they were there ready for the players to digest as soon as they entered the dressing room.
Pereira has been a calming and stabilising presence since his appointment.
