The Port Harcourt Magazine Awards is set to honour the Chairman of Okrika Local Government Area, Chief Akuro Tobin DSSRS, as Best Chairman on Human Capital Development at its 6th edition.
In just 11 months in office, the Council Chairman has rolled out two phases of empowerment programmes that go beyond the usual. Several youths and women are currently undergoing training in various life-changing and high-demand skills.
Speaking on the nomination, Chief Tobin thanked the PHMA team for a credible selection process carried out without any prior request for support or largesse. He also pledged to do more for the people of Okrika, not only in human capital development but across all sectors that improve the quality of life.
The Port Harcourt Magazine Awards 2026 will hold on Saturday, 13th September 2026 at The Ark Event Centre, Port Harcourt.
