From Okey Sampson, Umuahia
The son of former Premier of the defunct Eastern region, Dr. M.I. OKpara, Chief Uzodinma Okpara, together with other stakeholders from Ohuhu clan in Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State, have endorsed Governor Alex Otti for a second term in office.
Addressing select journalists at his Umuegwu Afugiri country home, the Scion of the former Premier said their endorsement of Otti was borne out of the fact that he has performed very well in the two and half years he has been in office.
Okpara stated that Otti has been at the forefront of a remarkable initiative that is geared towards the reconstruction of Abia State.
“His commitment to the progress of the state is not just evident, it is palpable as, under his leadership, we are witnessing a renaissance that is revitalising our communities and enhancing the quality of lives of citizens of Abia State.”
Okpara, reeling out the numerous achievements of Otti in all sectors, stated that the positive impact of these developments is clear.
“Families are enjoying a better life, children are learning in better environments with better trained and qualified teachers, and businesses are thriving with improved infrastructure.
Placing Otti in the mould of his father, Dr. M.I Okpara, the junior Okpara said the governor has laid and is still laying the foundation for a prosperous Abia and called for total support for his second term bid.
Reacting to the allegation by the opposition that what the governor has put on ground, so far, is not commensurate with the allocation he receives from the Federal Government, Okpara said those who are alluding to that have no valid facts to present and dismissed the allegation.
