Former Super Eagles captain, Austin Jay-Jay Okocha has urged Victor Osimhen to take full control of his next career move, emphasising that the decision should be his alone.

Osimhen, 26, is widely expected to leave Napoli permanently this summer, with interest from multiple clubs, including Saudi side Al Hilal, who made three offers—all rejected by the striker, who is keen to stay in Europe.

After a stellar loan spell at Galatasaray last season, where he scored 37 goals in 41 appearances to win the Super Lig, Turkish Cup, and Golden Boot, Osimhen’s high wages have reportedly deterred some English clubs.

Still, he remains determined to depart Napoli, a move that would benefit all involved.

“The decision should be his. Whether it goes well or not, he must own it,” Okocha told Sport 247.

“I don’t believe in deciding someone’s future. He should choose what’s best for him and his family.”

Osimhen is due to return to Napoli for pre-season on July 14 if no transfer is secured. He may feature in friendlies but is unlikely to be part of Antonio Conte’s long-term plans.
