The Governing Council of Federal Polytechnic, Oko, has dismissed three senior staff over alleged theft and age falsification.
Other reasons for the sack included sabotage, illegal sale of the Polytechnic’s tractor bucket and conspiracy. The dismissed senior staff are the Deputy Registrar, Mr. Anthony Ogochukwu Umeozor; the Principal Technical Officer, Mr. Ekene Olugburu and a Principal Executive Officer, Mr. Henry Ibeh.
The notice of the staff dismissal was posted on the institution’s site by one Samuel Onwuchekwa.
The polytechnic said that Umeozor, a former Deputy Registrar in the institution, was no longer in its employment from October 28, 2025.
It added: “The dismissal became necessary due to a case of falsification of age that was established against Mr. Anthony Ogochukwu Umeozor, following a thorough investigation by a properly constituted disciplinary committee in line with the extant rules. “This unfortunate and unwholesome act is listed as a serious misconduct under the public service rules, Chapter 10, Section 4, Rule 100402, of which the ultimate penalty is dismissal from service as enshrined in Rule 100407 of the public service rules.”
Also, the institution notified the public that Ekene Olugburu and Henry Ibeh, were no longer in the employment of the polytechnic.
The institution said Olugburu was dismissed on account of a case of conspiracy, sabotage, stealing and illegal sale of the Polytechnic’s tractor bucket, it’s accessories and ceiling fans, which was established against him following a thorough investigation by a constituted disciplinary committee in line with the extant rules.
According to the Polytechnic, the offence constituted serious acts of misconduct under Rule 100402 of the public service rules whose ultimate penalty is dismissal from service.
As for Ibeh, the institution revealed that his dismissal became necessary due to a case of conspiracy, sabotage, stealing and illegal sale of the Polytechnic’s tractor bucket, it’s accessories and ceiling fans, which was established against him following a thorough investigation by a disciplinary committee in line with the extant rules.
