Naval Chief tasks personnel on physical, mental alertness

The Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, has charged personnel of the Nigerian Navy to be physically and mentally alert to boost their operational readiness of fighting crude oil theft.

The CNS, gave the charge during the Second Quarter  Route March covering 10 kilometers on Saturday in Abuja.

Represented by the Chief of Administration, Rear Admiral Kenneth Ezete, Ogalla, assured Nigerians to continue to expect the best form the navy in the ongoing fight against insecurity and criminality in the country, especially the fight against oil theft.

The navy chief while commending the personnel for the impressive turnout and the display of fitness by the officers and men during the march, said the reason for the exercise was to ensure that officers and men are physically fit for the Naval job that they had been assigned to do.

He also said that the quarterly march was a routine exercises held in all naval formations across the country. “It is also to promote comradeship and for the citizens or the populace to know that they have a navy that its personnel are physically fit to carry out their assigned tasks.

“I congratulate and thank all of you for the effort you have made in this exercise,” he said.
