A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, Bolaji Adeniji, has declared that there is no division among the Yewa-Awori people of Ogun West Senatorial District over the governorship aspiration of the senator representing the senatorial district at the National Assembly, Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, come 2027.

Adeniji, who stated this while speaking with journalists in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, on Monday, said that unlike in the past when Ogun West was polarised because of governorship aspirations, the people of the senatorial district are now more united and galvanised to speak with one voice in the 2027 general election.

He added that the Yewa-Awori people are better prepared, informed and sensitised to break the jinx of Ogun West’s inability to produce a governor since the creation of Ogun in 1976, by throwing their weight behind Senator Adeola.

He pointed out that the resolve of the Ogun West people has further been strengthened by the support coming from the other two senatorial districts in favour of the senator.

Adeniji, who is also the Convener of Ogun West Initiative, expressed optimism that the senator, otherwise known as Yayi, will bring all-round development to Ogun State if supported to emerge as the successor of Governor Dapo Abiodun.

He cited Senator Adeola’s vision, leadership style and remarkable strides in infrastructural development, provision of social services, and economic empowerment of the people as the foundation for the endorsement and overwhelming support he has been enjoying.

While describing Adeola as the apparent choice of the Ogun people for the governorship in 2027, Adeniji emphasised that the senator has demonstrated uncommon commitment to the development of Ogun West and beyond.

“His facilitated and personal projects are not just promises; they are realities that are touching lives daily and making indelible impact on his constituents and non-constituents alike,” he said.

He, however, noted that the unity of purpose being exhibited by the people of Yewa-Awori was enabled by the good works of the senator.

“Unlike before, when our people were accused of not speaking with one voice and working at cross-purposes, today, the overwhelming majority of Ogun West people are fully backing Senator Adeola because we see him as the best man, by competence and courage, to succeed Governor Dapo Abiodun and ensure equitable and robust development across Ogun State.

“His track records of inclusive governance have placed him in a vantage position to bridge the developmental gaps between Ogun East, Ogun Central and Ogun West.

“Senator Adeola is a man of vision and action. What he has done in the last two and half years has uplifted the people’s standard of living and transformed Ogun West into a hub of progress where every sector of human endeavour has been touched. This is the reason why Ogun West is fully united behind him to replicate the Midas touch and deliver all-round development that will benefit every part of the state.

“We are confident that this time around, Ogun West is set to break the jinx of 50 years because there is already a convergence of choice in Yayi. And if you observe the pattern of his interventions and their spread, there is no doubt whatsoever that he will ensure development to all component parts of Ogun State from 2027,” Adeniji submitted.
