The Ogun State Police Command said its Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Squad has recovered a stolen, unregistered Lexus ES350 saloon car in Ondo State.
Police Public Relations Officer of the command, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi disclosed this in a Friday statement.
According to the statement, the recovery followed a report received on September 15, 2026, that suspected armed robbers had snatched a red Lexus ES350 saloon car at about 2:00 am in the Ogijo area of Ogun State.
The police said the vehicle had no registration number.
Acting on the report, the Officer-in-Charge of SWAT, SP Obeh Eneye, directed operatives to commence investigations and pursue available leads towards recovering the vehicle and identifying those responsible.
The PPRO said sustained investigative efforts subsequently led to the discovery of the vehicle in Ondo State.
Babaseyi disclosed that SWAT operatives facilitated its recovery and conveyed it to the Ogun State Police Command.
He said investigations were ongoing to apprehend other suspects connected with the incident and recover any additional stolen property.
The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, commended the SWAT operatives for their diligence and professionalism, reaffirming the command’s commitment to intelligence-led operations, the recovery of stolen property and the prosecution of offenders.
He also urged vehicle owners to ensure that their vehicles are duly registered and display valid registration numbers, noting that proper registration facilitates identification, ownership verification and the tracing of stolen vehicles.
CP Ojajuni encouraged residents to promptly report suspicious activities and provide credible information to the police, assuring them of the command’s continued commitment to protecting lives and property across the state.
