Ogun: Senator Adeola organises free trade fair for 100 agri-business entrepreneurs

The Senator representing Ogun West senatorial district at the National Assembly, Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, otherwise known as Yayi, has organized a free trade fair for 100 agri-processors and related entrepreneurs in Ogun State.

The event tagged “3-day Ogun West MSME Trade Fair” was held in Ota, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the state.

Addressing participants at the closing of the trade fair with the theme, “MSME As A Catalyst for Economic Growth”, the senator who is also the Chairman, Senate Committee on Appropriations, said that programme was facilitated by him in conjunction with the Federal Cooperative College, Oji Rivers, Enugu State, to afford the 100 agri business entrepreneurs opportunity to exhibit and expose their products to the public.

Represented by the Chairman, Ogun State Agric Cooperative and Multipurpose Agency, Waliu Taiwo, Adeola charged the participants to acquire practical strategies to showcase their products by participating in trade fairs and agric exhibition events.

The senator equally tasked them on the need to avail themselves with digital techniques to market their products across various digital platforms.

 

He expressed satisfaction with the quality of the processed agric products exhibited, saying the efforts would help in enhancing food security, not only in Ogun, but Nigeria.

Adeola, however, urged the participants to continue carrying out research on how to add value to their product to meet international standards and enhance export.

While noting that he would continue to facilitate more empowerment schemes for budding entrepreneurs in Ogun West and beyond, the senator assured the participants that more trade fairs would be organized to provide platforms for them to showcase their inventions to the world.

He further urged them to imbibe and inculcate take aways and business tips offered by the officials of the Ogun State Internal Revenue and other government agencies, in their various businesses.

Speaking, the Coordinator of the Trade Fair, Babatunde Osho, said the event was organized to further hone the business and marketing skills of the entrepreneurs.

He, however, urged them to make use of the knowledge and new ideas they acquired during the 3-day trade fair and put them to use in running their businesses.
