Former Nigeria’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Sarafa Tunji Isola, has urged his supporters to remain calm and patient following the emergence of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Yayi as the consensus governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abeokuta.

The decision was announced after the party’s State Caucus meeting, setting the tone for the forthcoming general election in Ogun State.

In a message to members of the Sarafa Support Groups, Isola, who is also seeking the APC governorship ticket, disclosed that he had commenced wide-ranging consultations with key stakeholders and influential figures across the political and social spectrum.

According to him, the ongoing engagements are aimed at ensuring that any eventual decision aligns with the collective interest, aspirations and stability of the people of the state.

Describing himself as a committed democrat, he stressed the need for inclusiveness, consultation and responsible leadership in handling the evolving political situation.

He called on his supporters to remain steadfast and confident, noting that moments of political transition demand patience, clarity and a focus on the greater good.

The former envoy assured that a well-considered position would be made public at the conclusion of the consultations.

He further appealed for unity, peace and constructive engagement among party members and supporters as the process unfolds.
