The Ogun State Police Command, has uncovered a three-member suspected child-stealing gang, arresting Kikelomo Jimoh, 36; Kayode Elizabeth; and Blessing Anochike, 60, while rescuing three children allegedly linked to the criminal enterprise.
The suspects were arrested by detectives attached to the Ibafo Police Division following a sustained intelligence-led investigation into a reported case of child stealing.
In a statement, the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, said the breakthrough began with the arrest of Jimoh, who allegedly confessed during interrogation and led detectives to the residence of Anochike, where the three children were rescued.
Babaseyi said investigation subsequently identified the rescued children as Christiana Olowokere, 14; Olamilekan Abdulrusheed, 16; and Adeniji Rebecca, 12.
“Preliminary findings indicate that Christiana was allegedly sold for N500, 000; while Olamilekan, who had earlier absconded from his parents, was allegedly abducted.

“The circumstances surrounding the movement and custody of Adeniji Rebecca are also under investigation,” the statement said.
The police spokesperson said the swift intervention of the command ensured the timely rescue of the three children, who are now safe, while the suspects remain in custody.
The case has since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Eleweran, Abeokuta, for discreet and comprehensive investigation.
According to the command, the investigation is aimed at establishing the full circumstances surrounding the case, determining the individual roles of the suspects and identifying other persons who may be connected to the alleged criminal enterprise.
The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, commended the detectives of Ibafo Division for their swift response, investigative diligence and commitment to protecting children and other vulnerable persons.
