Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogbomoso on Monday staged a large-scale rally to reaffirm their loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and kick-start intensified mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections, pledging to reclaim Oyo State from the opposition.
The open-air gathering, held at the Soun Ogunlola Hall, Oja’gbo, Ogbomoso, drew a broad coalition of party leaders, elected officials, former office holders and grassroots mobilisers, showing renewed unity and strategic coordination within the APC in the Ogbomoso zone.
Organised by the Renewed Hope Ambassadors team under the leadership of Senator Teslim Folarin, the rally also signalled the party’s plan to embark on a statewide tour across Oyo’s seven geopolitical zones and fourteen federal constituencies to galvanise grassroots support for President Tinubu and the APC ahead of the polls.
Prominent figures at the event included Senators Sarafadeen Alli, Yunus Akintunde, Ayoade Adeseun and Abdulfatai Buhari; former Minister of Sports, Hon. Sunday Dare; Hon. Remi Oseni; Hon. Akeem Adeyemi; Mrs Florence Ajimobi; Barrister Iyiola Oladokun; and members of the party’s executive led by the Oyo State APC Chairman, Alhaji Olayide Abass. Also present were former and aspiring governorship candidates, Chief Adebayo Adelabu and Prince Kayode Oyewumi (Bayewuwon).
Other notable stakeholders in attendance were Senator Braimoh Yusuf (rtd. General); former Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Asimiyu Alarape; Engineer Dayo Lawal; Engineer Idris Adeoye; Chief Sunday Adegoke (Maigida); Professor Ralph Afonja; Hon. Segun Dokun Odebunmi (Bunvic); Hon. Olaminuwonlo Alao-Akala; Mrs Kemi Alao-Akala; Chief Akin Onigbinde (SAN); Chief Akin Oke; Senator Hosea Agboola; Engr. Rauf Olaniyan; and several youth and women leaders from across the zone.
In his welcome address, Hon. Segun Dokun Odebunmi described Ogbomoso as a traditional APC stronghold, assuring party faithful that the zone was fully mobilised to deliver overwhelming support in future elections. “Ogbomoso will deliver massively for the APC. Our people are solidly behind President Tinubu and his Renewed Hope Agenda,” he said.

Addressing the gathering, Oyo State APC Chairman, Alhaji Olayide Abass, praised the resilience and organisational strength of party members in Ogbomoso, noting that their commitment was central to the party’s resolve to return to power in the state. He urged members to remain united and focused, stressing the need to deepen grassroots structures and sustain internal harmony ahead of the 2027 contest.
In his keynote address, Senator Teslim Folarin charged party members to take the Renewed Hope message to the grassroots, urging them to educate voters on the policies and leadership style of President Tinubu. “Our mission is clear: APC in Oyo State is ready to fully align with the Renewed Hope Agenda. The spirit of love and togetherness we see today must be sustained. At the right time, we will move into every nook and cranny of the state, and by 2027, the APC will record a total victory,” Folarin declared.
Also speaking, former Oyo State First Lady and ambassador-designate, Mrs Florence Ajimobi, called for unity and peaceful coexistence within the party, describing the APC as the most formidable political platform in the state. She assured supporters that the current atmosphere of harmony would be sustained, noting that all stakeholders were committed to working together for President Tinubu’s re-election and the party’s return to the Agodi Government House in 2027.
Former Oyo State APC Chairman, Chief Akin Oke, echoed the call for unity, insisting that the party had spent long enough in opposition. “Eight years in opposition is enough. We must work together as a team and return to Government House,” he said.
Senator Ayoade Adeseun, in his remarks, assured party supporters that Ogbomoso would vote overwhelmingly for the APC in the next general elections.
The rally climaxed with the formal endorsement of President Tinubu for a second term and the reception of hundreds of defectors from other political parties. The new entrants, drawn from Ogbomoso North, Ogbomoso South, Oriire, Ogo-Oluwa and Surulere local government areas, were formally welcomed into the APC.
The event ended with renewed calls for unity, sustained mobilisation and strategic grassroots engagement as the APC intensifies efforts to reclaim Oyo State in 2027.
