Captains of industry and prominent Nigerians, especially from the pharmaceutical industry came together on Thursday to honour the outgoing Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Oculus Pharmacare Limited, Sir Clifford Nzimako, as he officially retires from the company.

The party, which held at the Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, was chaired by Abdul Lateef Muse. It was an evening of fun and cool music as friends and colleagues eulogized him for his sterling qualities in management and leadership.

Guests were treated to a buffet, choice wine and good old school vibes. The celebrant was accompanied by his wife, Chinwe, and family members, to cut the farewell cakes. Friends and colleagues also presented him with some gifts.

Nzimako whose career started at Lever Brothers Plc, now Unilever, as a management trainee joined Swiss Nigeria Chemical Coy Ltd in 1983 and had held management positions in distribution and operations. Prior to the merger of CIBA and Sandoz to form Novartis, he was acting Head, Pharma Division of CIBA. He has over 30 years of experience in the industry.

A distinguished administrator, Nzimako pioneered the affairs of Oculus Pharmcare Ltd since it’s establishment in 2000 as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer until he retired.

He told Sunday Sun at the event that the company’s core activity is marketing and distribution of pharmaceuticals and allied products with the aim of providing quality healthcare products and first class services to their various partners while helping millions of people who use their products and services to be well and stay well.

The company has grown to an enviable point with international affiliation.

According to him, Oculus PharmaCare now has a new subsidiary, NOMEDI Pharmaceuticals Limited, which is primarily engaged in the importation and distribution of Pharmaceuticals, Neutraceuticals, herbal products and medical devices.

In the same vein, Sir Valentine Ezeiru, who succeeded him, maintained that as respected healthcare company with patient care, well-being and safety at the heart of the business and with a set of core values which make them unique, they are passionate about doing what is right by providing better service towards the health and well-being of people.

Ezeiru, the new Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, holds a Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy and is a fellow of West African Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria.

Ezeiru who joined Swiss Nigeria Chemical Coy Ltd in 1983 as a sales representative was at various times Area Manager, Lagos West zone and Sales Manager.
