Obi symbol of good governance -Etiaba

Why state police implementation should be postponed – Peter Obi

Former Anambra State Governor, Dame Virgy Etiaba, has described the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, as an outstanding leader whose commitment to good governance transcends political affiliation.

Etiaba made the remarks in a goodwill message to mark Obi’s 65th birthday, praising his contributions to public service, economic management, and national development.

In a statement issued by the spokesman of the Peter Obi Media Reach (POMR), Idris Zekeri Jnr, the former governor said Obi’s record in public office and his commitment to accountability had continued to inspire Nigerians across generations.

She noted that Obi’s emphasis on prudent resource management, investment in education, healthcare, and infrastructure, as well as his advocacy for inclusive development, had elevated public discourse and encouraged greater civic participation among Nigerians at home and in the diaspora.

Etiaba said Obi has become a leading voice on issues of diligence, integrity, competence, and responsible leadership beyond the political arena.

“I am pleased to join countless Nigerians and admirers globally in celebrating His Excellency, Mr Peter Obi. Beyond his political endeavours, Mr Peter Obi has emerged as a significant voice in discussions surrounding diligence, integrity, capability, and active civic engagement,” she said.

The former governor described Obi’s 65th birthday as a significant milestone, saying his life and achievements had inspired millions of Nigerians, particularly young people, to embrace hard work, peaceful coexistence, and nation-building.

She further commended his career in business, public service, and national leadership, describing it as one marked by discipline, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to societal progress.

Etiaba prayed for continued good health, wisdom, and strength for the former Anambra governor, expressing hope that he would continue to make meaningful contributions to governance, fiscal prudence, and Nigeria’s overall development.

Obi, a former governor of Anambra State, clocked 65 last Friday and received goodwill messages from political associates, supporters, and admirers across the country.
