Nigeria Democratic Congress presidential candidate Peter Obi has reaffirmed his commitment to rescuing Nigeria from its prevailing state of anomie and wastefulness. He insisted that a new Nigeria is possible.

Speaking at a town hall meeting in Owerri, Obi thanked Imo people for their turnout and solidarity. He restated his focus on economic difficulties, insecurity and governance deficiencies.

Obi emphasised the need to move from wasteful governance to prudent resource management and investment in education, healthcare and productive enterprise. He called for a shift from a consumption driven to a production driven economy.

Senator Victor Umeh stressed equity, justice and fairness, particularly regarding the legitimate aspirations of the South East. He said national cohesion requires genuine inclusiveness.

Imo State NDC Chairman Reginald Uwakwe assured Obi that the state chapter is fully mobilised to deliver over 1.5 million votes. The event drew party stakeholders, candidates and supporters.
