One of the founding fathers of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Onwuka Ukwa, has called on the leadership of the new coalition group seeking to oust President Bola Tinubu from office to pick Peter Obi as their presidential candidate if they are serious of defeating the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027.
According to him, any conspiracy that throws up another candidate will simply hand over the victory to the APC. He implored former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former governors Rotimi Amaechi and Nasir El-rufai to bury their presidential ambitions and support Obi in the interest of the country.

He advised the coalition to have a consensus presidential candidate to avoid any form of fragmentation within them that will enable the opposition to continue by default. “I believe that this coalition is formed to produce a candidate for national acceptance that can resolve the nations’ intractable problems. In 2015, Buhari was the acceptable candidate.
“In 2027, the consensus candidate that will appeal and unify the entire nation is Peter Obi. He is the only winning presidential candidate in that coalition for 2027. Any other conspiracy that throws up another candidate will simply hand over the victory to the APC to continue. “We must subdue our ego and select a candidate that is not hungry for power, but a candidate that is hungry to serve, and it is Peter Obi. Let us not misplace this opportunity to move the nation forward,” Ukwa stressed.
