‘Obi not running for power, but purpose’ — Justin Ijeh

Obi-Kwankwaso Movement

By Lawrence Agbo

National Publicity Secretary, Obi-Kwankwaso Movement, Justin Ijeh, has said Peter Obi is not contesting for power for its own sake, but as a means to achieve a broader national purpose.

Speaking on Thursday night on ARISE News, Ijeh explained that Obi’s political ambition is driven by a vision of building a Nigeria that works for all citizens, rather than serving narrow interests.

He added that this ideology aligns closely with that of Rabiu Kwankwaso, noting that both leaders share a commitment to inclusive governance and institutional integrity.

According to Justin Ijeh, the movement backing Obi and Kwankwaso is focused on promoting a system where public institutions function independently, without political interference, and where the dignity of citizens is respected.

He stressed that the goal is to create a Nigeria that delivers opportunities broadly, insisting that leadership should be about purpose and impact, not merely the pursuit of power.

“We want a Nigeria that works for everyone, not just some; a Nigeria that respects the dignity of Nigerians and of institutions that perform their roles without political interference.”
