Hon. Mudashiru Obasa has been reinstated as the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly.
Obasa, who was removed in January, returned as Speaker at plenary on Monday following the resignation of his successor, Hon. Mojisola Meranda.

Obasa’s 10-year reign as Speaker ended abruptly in January after his colleagues accused him of multiple infractions, including poor leadership style, high-handedness, frequent lateness to plenary sessions, abuse of office, and intimidation of fellow lawmakers.
No fewer than four-fifths of the assembly supported his removal.
Obasa, who refuted the allegations against him, insisted that due process was not followed in his removal.
