A former member of the House of Representatives and member of the Governing Board of the African Aviation and Aerospace University (AAAU), Chidi Nwogu, has commended the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, for sustaining his constituency empowerment initiatives.
Nwogu gave the commendation following the successful 2026 GBAJA Mega Empowerment Programme held on Saturday, September 26, at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
He described the programme as a practical demonstration of Gbajabiamila’s commitment to improving the welfare and economic wellbeing of his constituents.
According to him, the scale and range of items distributed under the programme showed that the intervention was designed to address different economic needs among residents of Surulere 1.
Nwogu said the initiative would provide beneficiaries with opportunities to earn income, grow their businesses and improve their standard of living.
He particularly commended Gbajabiamila for maintaining regular contact with his constituents through community outreaches, medical missions and empowerment programmes.
The former lawmaker said such programmes were important because they provided direct support to people at the grassroots, especially young people, entrepreneurs and other residents seeking opportunities to improve their livelihoods.

He congratulated Gbajabiamila on the successful completion of the latest empowerment programme and prayed for continued wisdom, strength and blessings for him as he serves in his capacity as Chief of Staff to the President.
The 2026 GBAJA Mega Empowerment Programme targeted about 4,500 constituents of Surulere 1 Constituency.
Beneficiaries received a range of items and support, including e-hailing electric cars, mini-buses, tricycles, security patrol vehicles and laptops.
Cash grants were also provided to support small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs), giving beneficiaries financial assistance to start or expand their businesses.
Nwogu said the combination of mobility assets, business support and other empowerment items could help beneficiaries create sustainable sources of income and contribute to economic activity within the constituency.
He urged the beneficiaries to make productive use of the items and financial support provided, saying the ultimate objective of such interventions should be improved livelihoods and stronger communities.
