With less than three weeks to the third Nsukka Made-in-Nigeria trade fair, organisers of the fair have explained that the aim of the exhibition is to promote the agricultural exports in Nsukka and indeed in the country.
Director-General Nsukka Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NSUCCIMA), Dr. Dan Ochi made this known, in Nsukka, in a chat with Daily Sun over the week.
According to Dr. Ochi, “The trade fair is for three reasons. One is to continuously make it an annual event and a platform to attract foreign investment, explore the economic and Agricultural potential of Nsukka people and Enugu State.
“It has become an avenue for us to increase economic and commercial activities in this part of the world.”
Explaining further, the Director-General said, “There are a lot of things we want to do differently this year. We are looking at exportable Agricultural produce.

“Some of the participants are into palm oil and honey packaging. Part of what we are doing is to see if we can get these exportable Agricultural products and prepare them for export.
“We are building an international coalition for this. We have already identified about fifteen exportable products and fortunately for us, these products are found abundantly in Nsukka and Enugu State.
He stressed that, “Another thing that makes this year event special is that we are combining it with First Nsukka Beer/Malt carnival. We want to make an opportunity for people to buy household items for Christmas at a reduced price.
“Two big beer/Malt producers are coming for the fair and three products will be sold at a very reduced price.”
The Director-General debunked the allegation that goods and services at Nsukka trade fair are usually expensive but said that goods and services at the fair at reduced price.
He, however, enjoined all the local manufacturers and indeed all people of Nsukka and beyond to participate in the fair which kicks off from December 6 to 17 at the usual venue, Government field, Nsukka. The theme of this year’s fair is “Promoting Agricultural and SME products for exports.”
