The first female Mass Communication Professor at the Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki, Ifeyinwa Nsude, will deliver the 24th Inaugural Lecture of the university on Friday.
The lecture which will be delivered under the chairmanship of the Vice Chancellor of the institution and former Deputy Governor of Ebonyi State, Prof Chigozie Ogbu, will be held at the Main Auditorium, ICT Centre, EBSU main campus.
Nsude who is also the Vice President, South East Zone of the Association of Communication Scholars and Professionals of Nigeria (ACSPN) will deliver a lecture on the topic: “Child rights reporting: Conjectures and connivance in the era of digital conundrums”.
According to a statement by the General Secretary, ACSPN and Vice Chancellor, Caleb University, Ijebu Ode, Prof Nosa Owens-Ibie, the lecture will be followed by the launching ceremony of a Festschrift in her honour at the Women Development Centre, Abakaliki.
He revealed that, “The build-up to both events has witnessed significant response by friends and stakeholders within and outside the ACSPN family, academics, professionals, community leaders, and former and current students, who have rallied to make both activities grand outings.
“Prof Nsude has distinguished herself as an influence and catalyst, and a role model in achieving results. She has been an arrow-head of ACSPN initiatives, and just about anything she has been associated with.”
