In response to anticipated increase in demand for evacuation of goods by rail, the managing director of Nigerian Railway Corporation has advised people blocking access to the jetties at Apapa port to quit.

He announced that a committee has been set up to review the presence of such people with a view to open right of way for seamless evacuation of goods in and out of the jetty through the railway.

Opeifa said that this is to ensure that there is an access to the jetties for goods to come in through the rail to other parts of the country.
