The Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Abubakar Dantsoho, has reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with the Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) to boost exports.
Dantsoho made the pledge when he received the NLNG Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Philip Mshelbila, at the NPA’s headquarters in Lagos on Monday.

Speaking during the visit, Dr. Mshelbila expressed NLNG’s appreciation for the NPA’s continued support and solicited increased synergy as NLNG Limited expands its LNG production capacity to take advantage of increased global demand.
Responding, Dantsoho assured NLNG of the NPA’s support, saying: “Imbued by the mandate of the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegoyega Oyetola, for the NPA to support the increased export orientation of the Federal Government, we assure you of our unwavering support. Nigeria LNG (NLNG) has played a key role in Nigeria’s economic development and export growth since its inception. We will grow this partnership.”
Nigeria’s attainment of a trade surplus of N5.81 trillion (or $3.7 billion) in the third quarter of 2024, as reported by the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) Foreign Trade Alert, was achieved through exports predominantly consummated on the platforms of the Nigerian Ports Authority.
