Group, Arewa Youths Assembly has commended Delta State Governor over the appointment of the President of the Itsekiri National Youths Council, Agbateyiniro Isaac Weyinmi as Commissioner-designate.
The Group in a statement by its Speaker, Mohammed Salihu Danlami described the appointment as deserving considering Agbateyiniro’s leadership experience in different capacities in the past years.
According to Danlami, the commissioner-designate apart from being the President, Itsekiri National Youths Council, has also served as Senior Special Assistant to the former Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa thereby qualified to be appointed as a commissioner.
“We want to use this opportunity to congratulate our brother, Agbateyiniro on this very positive development ahead of his confirmation by Delta State House of Assembly.
“Before this appointment as a Commissioner-designate, Agbateyiniro Isaac Weyinmi was a Senior Special Assistant to the former Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa, and President, Itsekiri National Youths Council.
“Agbateyiniro is an orator, a detribalised Nigerian, always building bridges of friendship and synergy across all religions, ethnicity, and tribes. He believes in maintaining culture and tradition as our identity and symbol of recognition.
“Your discipline, knowledge, skills, versatility, dedication, and patriotism have pivoted you to this very position. Surely, you have worked very hard to attain this height, and gladly you have been recognised for your hard work, with more work.
“You got here not by accident but merit and that will sustain you through this new challenge. You have always stood for humanity and dedicated your life to doing good, I believe with this new challenge you will do more and better.
“While we congratulate you, we also pray to God Almighty to continue to protect, guide and direct you to success. Congratulations once again”, the statement read in part.
