Northern Governors condole Kano over death of two lawmakers

The Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF) and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has expressed condolences to the government and people of Kano State following the death of two serving members of the Kano State House of Assembly, Aminu Sa’adu Ungogo and Sarki Aliyu Daneji.

In a condolence message issued by the Director-General (Press Affairs), Government House, Gombe, Ismaila Uba Misilli, Governor Yahaya, speaking on behalf of his counterparts in the Northern Governors’ Forum, described the demise of the lawmakers as a significant loss to Kano State and to democratic governance in Nigeria.

He extended sympathies to Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf; the leadership and members of the State House of Assembly; as well as the families, colleagues, and constituents of the deceased legislators.

According to him, the late Ungogo and Daneji distinguished themselves through committed public service, legislative diligence, and unwavering dedication to the interests of their constituencies and the state at large.

“Their passing is not only painful to Kano State but to the broader democratic system, which has lost two devoted representatives of the people,” the NSGF Chairman noted.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya prayed for Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, grant them Aljannatul Firdaus, and give their families, associates, and the people of Kano State the strength to bear the loss.
