Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani declared that the North West is thriving under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, calling the zone the heartbeat of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking at the APC North West Stakeholders meeting in Kaduna on Saturday, May 17, he said Tinubu took office during a challenging period but has shown courage in implementing bold reforms.

“President Tinubu took control of our nation’s affairs at one of the most difficult times in its history,” Sani said. He noted that these reforms are yielding results, with Nigerians recognising Tinubu’s good intentions. “As things begin to pick up, the APC has become the choice destination for politicians and citizens generally,” he added.

Sani noted that before 2023, the North West was plagued by banditry, terrorism, and kidnapping, making travel and farming nearly impossible. “Life was indeed nasty, short, and brutish,” he said. However, Tinubu’s administration has stabilised security and boosted agriculture with farm inputs.

He also mentioned projects like the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano Dual Carriageway, the Ilella-Badagry Road, and the North West Development Commission, which received the highest budget among regional commissions.

Sani urged supporters to mobilise for Tinubu’s second term, saying, “We have in Mr President a true father and friend.” He added that Tinubu aims to reinvent the economy, eliminate hunger and poverty, and elevate Nigeria globally.

Deputy Senate President Senator Barau Jibrin predicted a landslide APC victory in 2027, citing Tinubu’s performance. “It is clear in 2027 we are going to have a landslide victory, inshallah,” he said. He attributed opposition defections to Athe PC to Tinubu’s success in tackling security and economic challenges, particularly in the North West. “You could not go to Birnin Gwari, but life has returned to the area,” he noted.

Barau praised the leadership of APC National Chairman Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and the region’s governors, urging party unity to ensure victory in 2027.
